Two Options for Dog Sled Tours – Guided Tours & Drive Your Own Sled

DRIVE YOUR OWN TEAM – SOUTH TRAIL TOUR

Join us for dog sledding in Steamboat Our first option allows you to drive your own dog sled team. After a brief tutorial you will set out on the trail with nothing but the steady breathing of the dogs and paws on snow as you DRIVE YOUR OWN DOG SLED TEAM. Our guides head out in front and behind you for your safety but allow you enough space so that you feel like you are alone in the world with the dogs. South Trail Tours are half day activities along seven miles of winding trails that circle the edge of Stagecoach Lake. After you are finished mushing your dog team, enjoy hot chocolate and sweets in the cabin while exchanging tales from the trail.

We run tours twice a day and offer pick up service. For our morning dog sled tours we will pick you up at 8:30 a.m and drop you off at approximately 12:00 p.m. For our afternoon tours, pick up is at 1:00 p.m and drop off around 4:30 pm. In the spring, depending on temperatures, we usually run one tour per day with pick up times at 8:30 a.m. to ensure our dogs stay cool enough on their runs.

If you are with a group of four or more we may be able to customize times and adventures. Call 970-846-0249 for details.

Price is per person:
Adults (anyone over 80lbs) – $175.00
Children (under 80 lbs) – $110.00
Lap Children (typically 2 years and younger) – $45.00

Be sure to choose the South Trail Tour.

GUIDE DRIVEN TOURS –  STEAMBOAT DOG SLEDDING – SOUTH TOUR

When we first began dog sled tours in Steamboat we found many people who preferred guided dog sled tours. If you chose to be guided, you will be bundled comfortably in our sled as one of our experienced guides drives you around our trail. Your only job is to sit back, relax and enjoy the scenery, the dogs and an experience of a lifetime. Our winter tours take place at either Stagecoach Reservoir and Lake or at the Flat Top Mountains. For these tours, up to two people can be in a sled with weight not to exceed 350 lbs. We provide shuttle service to all of our guests or you are welcome to drive out on your own.

Each of our tours includes an introductions to our top athletes and plenty of petting time. You are welcome to join us in harnessing and hooking up dogs if you feel comfortable. There are opportunities along the way to stop and take pictures of your dogs and the scenery. After you are finished mushing your dog team, enjoy hot chocolate and sweets in the cabin while exchanging tales from the trail.
